- Environmental monitoring.
- Conducting fish and amphibian salvages and surveys.
- Bird nest surveys.
- Emergency environmental response.
- Prescribing and installing sediment and erosion control measures.
- Installation of bioengineering measures.
- Wildlife control.
- Report writing.
- Enrolled in or completed a Tech Diploma or Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree from a biology, environmental sciences, fisheries or other applicable program.
- Registered or Eligibility for registration with the College of Applied Biology.
- Proficient writing and computer skills.
- Class Five drivers’ license.
- Level 1 First Aid.
- Environmental monitoring training and experience.
- Competent in fish identification.
- Completed Electrofishing certification.
- Experienced and competent in MS Word use.
- Certified Trapper.
- Transportation Endorsement.
- Construction and heavy equipment knowledge and experience.

Job Posting: Fisheries Technician
North River Consulting is accepting applications for Fisheries Technicians. The positions will be full time and based out of Prince George, work will include various locations throughout northern BC. Summer work positions are available to support students that need to return to school in the fall.
Duties may include:
- Primarily fish salvage.
- Fish inventory and sampling.
- Potential other environmental opportunities such as amphibian salvages and surveys, bird nest surveys, environmental monitoring, emergency environmental response, prescribing and installing sediment and erosion control measures, installation of bioengineering measures, wildlife control, report writing.
- Completed Electrofishing certification, or willing to complete the training.
- Class Five drivers’ license.
- Level 1 First Aid and Transportation Endorsement, or willing to complete the training.
- Competent in fish identification.
